Call for papers - 11th Iberian Conference on African Studies
The call for papers for the 11th Iberian Conference on African Studies (CIEA11) will be open until 24 February 2020. The event will take place in Lisbon in 2020 from 2 to 4 July, at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
CAPP researchers, Rui M. Sá and Cecilia Veracini are the conveners of one of the event’s panels, untitled “Nature and human societies in the African anthropocene”, panel number 39. This panel aims to discuss the interactions between human activities, environments and non-human animals in the African continent, taking into account the general intensification of global and local human impacts on natural habitats of the last centuries. Authors must submit the abstracts on the event’s website. Abstracts are accepted in Portuguese, English, Castilian or French, should not exceed 300 words, with the first 50 words for a short abstract and the remaining 250 words for a long abstract.
CIEA11 Program includes plenary sessions and parallel sessions of more panels proposed by participants within the Conference theme “African Transits in the Global World: History and Memories, Heritage and Innovation”. The scientific event will have an additional plenary session to discuss the foundation of an African Studies Iberian Association.
