Call for book reviews and research reports
Public Sciences & Policies is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Centre for Public Administration and Public Policies. We are now accepting submissions for:
a) Book reviews of relevant works
b) Consultancy and scientific research reports, including reports on empirical research
c) Reports on the design and implementation of public policies
Following submission, reports and book reviews will be subjected to the same peer-review process of articles.
a) Book reviews of relevant works:
The book review must specify the reviewed book indicating the title, the author’s name, publisher, publisher’s location and year of the edition used. Only reviews of books published within the last three years will be accepted. If the reviewed book is a translation, it will have to be explicit in the review. The review should include an objective summary of the theme or subject of the reviewed work, addressing the relevance for the scientific field that justifies the review. The critical position of the reviewer should be explicit, briefly stating the main points of agreement and disagreement with the thesis put forward by the author of the reviewed work. The reviewed books must relate to Public Administration and Public Policies or any other area of the Social Sciences.
b) Consulting and scientific research reports, including reports on empirical research:
Scientific reports from research and consultancy projects must focus on concrete experiences of research, such as the application of specific techniques and methodologies, the articulation with other actors and elements related to practical aspects of fieldwork. Reports on empirical research will also be considered for publication, drawing attention to possibilities for future research and underlining innovative aspects that may warrant the attention of the scientific community. All these elements should be clearly explained.
c) Reports on the design and implementation of public policies:
Reports on the design and implementation of public policies will also be considered for publication. These should relate theory and research with the practical implementation of results.
