About this Special Issue:

This Special Issue of Public Sciences & Policies aims to broaden the knowledge on Justice Administration and Justice Policies and to contribute to the dissemination of innovative knowledge and the best management practices in organizations of the Judicial System. This edition will thus provide an organized and broad forum for this field of research.

Without excluding other possible themes, topics of interest include:

  • Judicial System, Organizations and Society;
  • Institutional environment of the Judicial System;
  • Innovation, Change and Entrepeneurship in the Judicial System
  • Acces to the Judiciary
  • Alternative Mechanisms on Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  • Restaurative Justice
  • Governance in Organizations in the Judicial Sector
  • Performance in Organizations in the Judicial Sector
  • Management and Innovation of Administrative and Fiscal Courts
  • Other themes on the Regulation and Management of Organizations in the Judicial System

Submitted papers will go through a process of double-blind peer review.




Guidelines for article submission:

  1. Only original and previously unpublished articles will be considered
  2. Submitted articles may take the form of theoretical essays, literature reviews or empirical research
  3. Submitted articles must be written in portuguese or english. Clarity and quality are essential criteria for publication
  4. Submitted articles must be accompanied by an abstract in Portuguese and a second abstract in English, each with no more than 150 words and four keywords
  5. Submitted articles must not exceed 7500 words (including the abstract, images, tables, references and  Annexes), using Times New Roman font, size 12, and 1,5 line spacing
  6. Bibliographical references should be formatted according to APA style guide
  7. Articles must be submitted along with a short biographical note about the author, including their institutional affiliation
