Public Sciences & Policies is a scientific journal published by the Centre for Public Administration and Public Policies for the promotion of research on Public Sciences and Public Policies.

It is also a forum open to all fields in the social sciences that are able to provide context and inform the implementation of Public Policies.

Information for Authors

Editorial Policy

The editorial policy of the journal Public Sciences and Policies seeks to follow a broad collaboration criteria in all areas of Social Sciences, aiming the dissemination of studies and projects in the areas of Public Sciences and Public Policies, highlighting the CPLP.

The authors should send their original texts, namely, that have not been previously published and which are not subject to other publications simultaneously.


Article Submission

The journal is open to articles in all fields of social sciences. The submissions must conform to the following standards:

I. Articles should be written preferably in Portuguese or English, and published in these languages. The clarity and quality of the text, even in cases of articles published in English, are a prerequisite for publication;
II. The papers must include an abstract in Portuguese and in English, with no more than 150 words and four key words;
III. Submitted papers will be subject to a process of double-blind peer review;
IV. Articles should not exceed 7500 words, in Times New Roman, size 12, spacing of 1.5 cm.
V. The bibliography should follow the APA style.
VI. Submissions should be sent in Word format, by e-mail in the form of attachment to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a brief biographical note of the authors.


To other sections:

I. The articles should be written in either portuguese or english, with no more than 3000 words, including references. Four keywords must be included.
II. Footnotes, tables and figures are not allowed except for reports on empirical research, which should not include more than three tables or figures. These should be submitted in Excel format (.xlsx or .xls).
